Writing Studio Team Lead Matt Gowen grew up in Lawrence, Kansas, recording funny “podcasts” on cassette tapes and later wrote for his school’s newspaper and yearbook. In his 24 years with Hallmark, Matt has worked on everything from tiny cards to big innovations. When he’s not managing his team of fun-loving writers, Matt loves doing all the outdoorsy things on trips with his wife, daughter, and son. Many of his favorite Christmas memories involve quiet nights sitting by the family tree with a mug of hot cocoa.
